If we meet today my love
I'll leave all else to rush to you.
I'll stand by you, I'll hold your hand,
And murmur: its you, ever since, its you!If we meet today my love
On any street, at any nook --
Gazing in your eyes I'll whisper
All things my heart could never tell.If we meet today my love
Be any hour of the day,
A crowded place, or be it lonesome:
I'll plead you not to go, but stay.If we meet today my love
I know I'll go all over numb
And you shall see and yet pass by,
Leaving all my wishes dumb.
